Stephanie Haven

Stephanie Haven is a UC Berkeley Tech Policy Fellow researching generative AI's impact in war and conflict zones, with a focus on AI ethics and safety. Prior, she led Trust & Safety operations for elections and international conflicts at Meta, developing external governance mechanisms and content moderation strategies based on human rights standards. Most recently, Stephanie pioneered an industry-first AI pilot at a war crimes tribunal in The Hague, exploring the opportunities for generative AI to enhance the efficiency of international legal processes. Her work focuses on developing successful technology products that balance innovation with safety and free expression. Stephanie holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, where she specialized in the intersection of technology and democracy.
